Lifestyle Photography: What is it, and it is a Good Fit For YOUR Family?

You may have heard the term, maybe even seen images that are called "lifestyle," but what does that actually mean?
According to wikipedia the definition of "lifestyle photography" is a style of portrait/people photography which aims to capture and document real life-events, situations, or milestones in an artistic manner and the art of the every day. 

At the time that I began my photography career no one was really talking about lifestyle photography.  But now, this type of photography is trending.  People are embracing the relaxed, natural, and genuine feel of lifestyle more so now than ever. 

But is lifestyle photography right for your family?  Do you appreciate true, genuine, candid images of your family?  Are you someone that loves images that show interaction rather than posey posey pics that look staged and stiff?  If the answer to these two questions is yes, then lifestyle may be a good fit for you.

A bonus to lifestyle is that these images can be captured anywhere.  There really is no need to find the "perfect" location for your photo session.  Do you like baking?  Let's head to the kitchen and create something delicious.  Do you kids spend countless hours in their bedrooms playing or jumping on the bed?  Bring it on!!  The ideas are only limited by your imagination.

From beginning to end, the story is yours to tell.  Lifestyle photography is not meant to be staged, but to document life as it happens.  This is YOU!!  Your every day life captured in an artistic way.   And me??
